Who am I?
My name is Stephanie Uhlhorn, and I am a social worker with a strong focus on counseling, workplace well-being, and mental health support.
Over the past years, I’ve worked across various fields—from youth welfare to adult education—gaining deep insight into human needs, communication dynamics, and how mental well-being directly shapes workplace culture and performance.
But my understanding doesn’t come from professional experience alone. After many years in demanding employee roles myself, I experienced burnout symptoms that forced me to step back and recover. That time taught me not only how essential mental health is, but how often support comes too late. It’s one of the main reasons I do what I do today.
My experience with burnout is the reason I show up for others — before it’s too late.
In my most recent role at a language school for adults, I supported both students and internal staff. I saw firsthand how early, low-barrier counseling can reduce tension, improve communication, and prevent long-term issues—if made accessible and human.
Today, I offer external, social work-based counseling for employees: confidential, online, and tailored to each organization’s real-world needs. To ensure quality and depth, I work with a limited number of clients at a time, allowing for personal attention, close collaboration, and sustainable impact.
“Mental health at work isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity. The best leaders don’t demand resilience; they cultivate it by fostering a culture of psychological safety.”
My Approach
My work is rooted in social work-based counseling—a holistic, practical, and person-centered approach that differs from conventional therapeutic models.
While clinical therapy often focuses on individual pathology or diagnosis, I see employees as whole human beings, embedded in a social, emotional, and professional system. I take into account not just the person, but the world they move through—workplace culture, private responsibilities, and structural pressures.
My aim is not to label, but to empower: I offer safe, non-judgmental spaces to reflect, talk, and find clarity—while providing concrete, everyday tools that people can actually use in their work and life.
